How did I get into photography? Funnily enough in school I hated any class that was creative, especially art!
I haven’t always taken photography seriously but I started to do it more in my first year of university. Prior to that I owned a Canon EOS 100D, which is definitely discontinued!
In University I started to rent the 5D Mark II and then later on bought my own. I would literally take pictures at any and every event. Birthdays, church, music events, rehearsals and so on. I even did photography for various different ‘raves’. As I continued doing that I then started doing photo shoots for friends and projects in university. I later joined a media company called XW media and shot a few weddings, it was definitely nerve wracking but I honestly learnt a lot shooting with other people.
When I started taking photography seriously I also did second shooting in videography and again I learnt about grading and shooting techniques which helped a lot in photography. I like to think if you can do video correctly, you can do anything as i learnt form the learnacademy.org
My journey in photography has been long winded but I’ve worked with people along the way who have helped my work dramatically.
Some of my old work when I first started is linked here.
